
Introduction to Fashion Construction 1 is a series of modules designed to teach students the basics of garment construction. Specifically, it familiarizes students on how to prepare the pattern, mark, cut and sew simple garments such as a straight skirt, a basic top and a shift dress.

Module 4: Shift Dress
July 19 - 23, 2021 | Monday, Wednesday & Friday | 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Course Structure: The modules will be done via distance learning through applications like Zoom and Google classroom. Live video demonstrations as well as pre recoded ones will aid the students in teaching them the art of fashion construction. Videos will be posted online for 1 week after the lesson to help students practice. Feedback to students on their work and during the session will be a key factor in ensuring that the students are properly guided in the lessons

In Module 4, students will be introduced to the process of preparing the pattern, marking, cutting and sewing a shift dress.
Session 1: Introduction, Preparing the Pattern, Marking, Cutting
Session 2: Closing the Darts, Sewing the Shoulders, Attaching the Sleeves, Peter Pan Collar with Neck Facing
Session 3: Finishing the Sewing, Presenting the Shift Dress, Feedback

A Certificate of Attendance will be given to each student who has successfully completed the program.
