Basic Draping class is essential as this is another skill on how students may construct and design garments. It is through this discipline that they learn to appreciate working with the dressform and derive designs from it. They will also learn how different fabric behaves when they manipulate it on a 3-dimensional form.
For S.Y. 2020-2021, this program will be delivered through the SoFA C.R.E.A.T.E. (Collaborative Remote Experience through Art and Transformative Education) Program.
In this course, students will learn to master the draping process. Students will start with fabric preparation, draping the basic blocks, which they will transform into pattern. From transforming with patterns, they will learn to design, manipulate, contour their stylelines and pattern blocks.
The semester begins in February 2021.
This course runs for 1 semester, or approximately 4 to 5 months.
