The course focuses on individual idea generation using the SoFA Method as an approach to design. With an emphasis on the self, themes will emerge to guide the student towards an original idea/s. These ideas will be executed through a series of minor and major projects.
As an introductory class to design conceptualization, background in garment construction is not a requisite for this course. As such, various materials will be explored in accomplishing the desired outcomes for the class.

Outcomes:
The course aims to develop the ability of the students to find inspiration from different aspects of the self. Through the familiarization of the SoFA method, students will be guided to look into their own unique experiences and utilize those to form original ideas that are highly conceptual and serve as innovative design solutions.
