Interior Design Drafting is the study of visual communication, typography, alphabet of lines and their applications and the use and care of instruments, geometric construction, use of scale, mensuration and dimensioning. The course will help students master skills in drawing necessary to express their schematic and technical ideas in design.
Emphasis is given to the study of the theory of projection with analysis of the relationship between points, lines and planes in space. The course includes exercises on surface development and graphic presentation.
For S.Y. 2021-2022, this program will be delivered through the SoFA C.R.E.A.T.E. (Collaborative Remote Experience through Art and Transformative Education) Program.
At the end of the term, the student should be able to:
- Prepare typographic composition using architectural lettering.
- Properly utilize drawing instruments and drafting paraphernalia.
- Apply alphabet of lines and appropriate drafting techniques in producing geometric drawings.
- Prepare orthographic and isometric drawings.
- Compile and submit portfolio of works.
The semester begins on the week of September 6, 2021.
This course runs for 1 semester, or approximately 4 to 5 months.
In order to allow students to ease into remote learning methods, the semester will kick start with a series of SoFA CREATE onboarding sessions and kick-off period.
