As the world becomes more digital, personal image becomes an important component in distinguishing oneself professionally.  There is a need to understand how to improve one’s way of dressing and how to determine one’s personalized fashion expression.  This course aims to provide a strong grasp of the basic principles of personal fashion styling. Each session will discuss important aspects on how to dress oneself and ultimately, will guide participants to find their best looks.

Module 2: Advanced Personal Fashion Styling

June 8 - June 24 | Tuesday & Thursday | 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Course Structure:

Synchronous sessions will be done via distance learning through applications like Zoom and Google classroom. For every session, a practical assignment will be given to participants to apply a particular fashion styling principle and they will be asked to present the homework in time for the following session for critique and discussion.

Feedback to students will be a key factor in ensuring that the students are properly guided in the lessons. Critique session is an opportunity for the student to raise any concerns or challenges that he/she faced while developing his/her own personal fashion style.

Session 1: Personal Style Review, Body Types, Color Theory

Session 2: Fashion History and Evolution, Style Archetypes 

Session 3: Investment Dressing, Dressing for the Occasion, Shopping

Session 4: Accessorizing, Footwear, Face shape & Eyewear

Session 5: Fashion Referencing, Face shapes, Hair Styles, Facial Features Development 

Session 6: Study of Patterns and Prints, Developing of Point-of-View (Drawing Inspiration), Course Recap

 

Module 2: Advanced Personal Fashion Styling

Session 1: Recap of Fashion Styling Course; Recap of Fashion Fundamentals, Fashion History 1900’s to 1950’s

Session 2: Fashion History 2 1950’s to 2000’s 

Session 3: Fashion History 3 Streetwear and Fashion Now; Trend forecasting 

Session 4: Development of Point of View: Drawing Inspiration and Materializing Inspiration

Session 5: Accessories and Footwear

Session 6: Finding your Best Look, Recap of the Course
